                                                           Free Wall at Riverdale Village - a 90-day pop-up concept from Riverdale Arts & Rec 

The future of Riverdale is deeply intertwined with art and creativity in all its forms. Providing a “free wall” here can be seen as a testament to Riverdale’s belief in the value of unfettered artistic expression, and an invitation to the entire community to embrace creativity, explore boundaries, and find beauty in juxtaposition and the unexpected. 

The Free Wall canvas is the concrete base of Building 3, the corrugated metal building located on River Ave at the entrance into the Riverdale complex. The opportunity for anyone and everyone to paint and create on the concrete base will be open through December 2024. 

After December 2024, if there is support shown by the community for a free wall continuing to be available, the pop-up concept will be evaluated for ongoing status. Artists can help make this more likely by following the simple stuff in the guidelines!

Free Wall Guidelines:

• No hate, politics, or obscenities
• Latex wall paint or spray paint only please
• Keep the area tidy
• Open to all to 6a to 9p  

*Riverdale respects all artists and their work, and asks that you respect the property. Please do not paint or write on other buildings (especially the historic red brick ones… no matter how tempting or visible - PLEASE).
