We invite you to share your work at a special pop-up exhibition event opening April 4.
Artspace ROA is partnering with Riverdale Southeast to host a Celebration of Roanoke's BIPOC Artists exhibition at Riverdale Village, the new community planned at the base of Mill Mountain.
To share your art:
- Sign up here and show us what you’d like to exhibit! Up to 3 works may be submitted. Rolling submissions with a final submission deadline of Noon on Friday, March 29. Submission Link
- Bring accepted pieces to 1860 9th Street SE 24013 on Monday, April 1 from 11AM - 1PM or 3 - 7PM.
- Invite your friends and family to see the show during the exhibition opening on Thursday, April 4 from 5 - 8PM.
- Expect good vibes and support from friends and new acquaintances, plus refreshments!
CALL FOR ART:
In partnership with ArtspaceROA, Riverdale Southeast seeks exhibition-ready art for a pop-up exhibition at the Riverdale studio space at 1860 9th Street. The exhibition, In Celebration of Roanoke's BIPOC Artists, will be on display from April 4 to April 19.
We welcome entries by BIPOC artists of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. Five $100 prizes will be awarded at the opening; four juried categories and one People's Choice award.
- Two-dimensional works should be framed and ready to be hung with installed hanging wire. Textile works should have an appropriate mechanism to hang from a hook. Three-dimensional works will be considered as display space can accommodate. A QR code can be attached to a visual representation, linking to a video, audio, or other multi-media demonstration of your creativity.
- Work may be in any medium: photography, painting, printmaking, collage, dance, songwriting, poetry, textile, sculpture, pottery, etc.
- Maximum dimensions allowed are 24″ by 36″ (more or less).
- Works do not have to be newly created for this show. Existing work is welcome.
- Selected works must be delivered to the Riverdale offices at 1860 9th St SE on Monday, April 1, from 11am - 1pm or 3 - 7pm.
- Work may be loaned for the show by the artist or by the work’s owner with permission of the artist.
- Work may be tagged with a price or NFS at artist’s choosing. Any sales made will be solely between the artist and buyer; Riverdale will not perform any transactions or receive any commission.
- After the opening, images will be shared on social media as we tag you and celebrate your creativity.
- Five $100 cash prizes will be given across 4 categories plus one People’s Choice award
- Awards will be given at 7pm during the opening event on April 4.
- Work(s) must be picked up April 19, 2024.
- Up to 3 submissions welcome; there may not be room to display all entries. Rolling submissions with a final submission deadline of Noon on Friday March 29.
